Car shuffling is no fun and taking a lot longer than anticipated. So far the men have done all the driving while the woman wait in the heat and humidity (rather than AC cars). To pass the time Diane bought a pack of Katy trail cards and the women have become proficient at "Golf".
| While Mary shuffles, Nancy prays for good cards. (Actually, Nancy is just trying to sit on the ground.) |
Today was a good day on the trail. It was slightly downhill and flat from New Franklin to McBaine, approximately 19 miles along the river.
The only tunnel on the Katy Trail.
The long lunch in Rocheport probably helped us get through the afternoon.
At McBaine, part of the group did the car shuttle thing while the rest took the MLK trail spur to Columbia, approximately 6.5 miles.
Dinner was just across the parking lot at Cracker Barrel, and quiet because Lonnie was too tired to talk.
